Algorfa is a municipality located in the province of Alicante, Valencian Community, Spain . It is located in the comarca of Vega Baja del Segura, the area is predominantly Castilian linguistic.
The city lies on the banks of the Segura River, in lush and fertile countryside. A mountainous backdrop and a magnificent panoramic view of the coast. It has a population of 4,537 (INE 2010), 65.5% of whom are foreigners.
It is part of the citrus plantation agricultural villages of the Vega Baja. The village is a short drive from the beautiful blue flag beaches of the Costa Blanca, nature reserves and only twenty minutes drive from the cosmopolitan Torrevieja. Less than an hour from Alicante International Airport.
The municipality of Algorfa is adjoining those of, Almoradí, Benejúzar, Benijófar, Los Montesinos, Orihuela and Rojales.
Life is relaxed, friendly in the typically laid-back way of Spanish life. The locals are very welcoming and their extreme kindness makes everyone feel immediately at ease.
Culture, shopping, golf and leisure
The visit of the neo-Gothic church built in the early nineteenth century is definitely worth a visit.
Algorfa holds a market on Sunday El Mercadillo El Zoco. Local shops offer all daily needs and many shopping centers are available in the vicinity of Torrevieja and Orihuela.
Nearby is La Pedrera, a recreation area with mountain bike trails, walking trails with barbecue and camping areas.
The Finca Algorfa Golf Club, located just outside the village, an excellent course. One of the oldest golf courses in the province, its facilities are of superior quality, with clubhouse and restaurant.

Algorfa enjoys a warm climate all year round, it ensures more than 300 days of sunshine a year and an average temperature of about 19º C, giving all visitors and residents the opportunity to enjoy the beaches and outdoor facilities, throughout the year.
